Good morning year 2,
This week in English we are going to be thinking about book reviews. Do you know what a book review is?
A book review is when you share your thoughts about a book you have read. These may include what you liked about the book and what you dislike about the book. A book review also contains a brief overview of what the book is about.
Here is an example of a book review.
The purpose of a book review is to inform your audience. When you want to start reading a new book you may read a few book reviews to figure out what books sound good.
Below is a template of a book review. Your task this week is to write a book review on any book you have read recently. If you are struggling to think of a book you can do a book review of Jack and the beanstalk.
Remember do not give the entire story away as then the person reading your book review won’t want to go and read the book.
Have fun and please send me some of your work to take a look at! firstname.lastname@example.org
