In school, we use Widgit Online when we need to create symbols and timetables quickly for children.
At the moment, Widgit are offering everyone free access for 30 days. You do not need to download the software, it is completely online.
To make a visual timetable:
When you sign in, click on 'Create a Grid' and you can choose a timetable grid from the options on the left. You can choose a layout that works for you.
Type in the boxes. Symbols will appear as you type.
Save as a pdf (use the icon on the top left just above where it says 'file') to keep your finished timetable.
You can also create lots of other documents or use some of the ready made resources.
If you are not sure how to use it, there are videos on Youtube to help if you search for Widgit Online.
