Being humble is not to think less of yourself, but thinking of yourself less.
Here are some habits of the humble! How many of these do you think you have already? Are there any that you could practice a little more? I certainly know I could!
They put others first.
Instead of thinking of themselves first, humble people realise that it's important that others know their worth, too. Have a look at this video. Are any of these characters showing humility? What could they do instead?
2. They listen.
There's nothing more annoying than being in a conversation with someone when you just know that they aren't listening! We talk a lot about active listening at school- about showing that you're listening, rather than just waiting to speak. The next video shows this perfectly!
3. They take time to say 'thank you'
Humble people always take the time to say thanks, even for the little things. Not only does it make themselves feel better, but it's guaranteed to put a smile on other people's faces, too!
4. They ask for help.
Being humble means accepting that we don't always have all the answers. No-one does!
Have a watch of this nice video about a guide dog. Guide dogs help people who are visually impaired or have certain disabilities. Pip is desperate to help and will do whatever it takes!
Have a great rest of the week everyone!
